M.A. In Personnel Management & Industrial Relations
The objective of the M.A. course in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations is to provide professional education to those who want to prepare for the jobs of Labor Officers, Personnel Officers, and Administrative Officers. The other objectives are to provide background knowledge of social work, to provide practical experience of fieldwork concerned with personnel management, industrial relations, and social welfare, to develop leadership qualities among students to be used in the labor and social welfare field and to train students in social research. Those who are trained in the department get preference in employment for jobs connected with labor welfare, personnel management, industrial relations, human resource development, labor administration, social welfare, etc & also equivalent to MBA/PGDM.
The course avoids extreme specialization and yet provides the trainees special knowledge of the subjects connected with personnel management, industrial relations and labor and social welfare. The alumni of the department are employed in various capacities in different industry, organizations and government departments in different parts of the country and many of them are holding top positions in the fields of personnel management, industrial relation, administration and human resource development in both public and private sectors including multinationals.
The candidate should have passed Graduation in any discipline (with a Minimum 45% as per Odisha Government guideline) marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing in final examinations call also apply.

- The department will closely interact with industrial houses through MDP, consultancy, summer placement programme, project work assignments, guest faculty system, and membership of professional bodies. Executives from various organizations will be appointed as members of the board of studies.
- The department will provide computer relocation in a well-furnished computer lab with an internet facility in the college for the use of its students and faculties.
- The department has its own library consisting of references and textbooks for the use of faculty members and students. The department will also subscribe to newspapers, periodicals, and journals of national and international repute for the use of students and faculties.
